That\u2019s when I started trending in Kisumu.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"643\" data-end=\"819\">Despite the challenges of long distance, the couple made efforts to see each other twice a month. However, Lydia now reflects that taking the relationship public was a misstep.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"973\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"823\" data-end=\"973\">\u201cPeople talked about us so much, I felt pressure to post about it. I had never posted someone I was dating before\u2014and looking back, I shouldn\u2019t have.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1018\">Eventually, the relationship ended quietly.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1020\" data-end=\"1090\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1022\" data-end=\"1090\">\u201cHe apologized, but some things are just hard to forgive,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1092\" data-end=\"1117\">Charging for Cheating<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1206\">Now in a more self-assured place, Lydia made it clear that forgiveness comes at a cost.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1462\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1462\">\u201cI can\u2019t forgive cheating easily, but if I do, you\u2019ll have to pay for it,\u201d she said. \u201cAt this point in my life, I might consider forgiving infidelity\u2014but only if you\u2019re willing to face the consequences. If you\u2019re ready to pay, then I\u2019ll set the terms.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1564\">Lydia questioned why so many people stay in toxic relationships that don\u2019t even improve their lives.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1566\" data-end=\"1817\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1568\" data-end=\"1817\">\u201cHow many people are cheated on and still can\u2019t afford to get their hair done or go out with friends? If you&#8217;re going to stay in a cheating relationship, make it worth your while. Me? I\u2019ll charge you if I stay. But let\u2019s be clear\u2014not all men cheat.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1819\" data-end=\"1863\">On Cheating Back and &#8220;Exploring Options&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1865\" data-end=\"2095\">Lydia also revisited her past advice to women on cheating back when dealing with unfaithful partners. She drew a line between dating and marriage, saying that until traditional rites like dowry are done, women are free to explore.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2097\" data-end=\"2237\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2099\" data-end=\"2237\">\u201cWelcome to 2025. Everyone is allowed to cheat. Men have children outside their relationships and come back crying\u2014but they never change.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2239\" data-end=\"2254\">She elaborated:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2256\" data-end=\"2423\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2258\" data-end=\"2423\">\u201cCheating while dating is just part of finding the right person. You\u2019re not married\u2014there\u2019s no dowry paid\u2014so you have the right to look around.
