Some people love it, others don\u2019t, and that\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>**Putting Reactions into Perspective**<\/p>\n<p>Murugi admitted she was initially confused by the backlash but later recognised that it was a matter of differing financial realities.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; \u201cAt first, I was like, \u2018Why is everyone so shocked?\u2019 Then I realised people react based on their current financial situations. Even I would be stunned if I heard someone spent KSh 500,000 on upkeep.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She emphasized that part of maturity is understanding that everyone is at a different point in life\u2014and you can\u2019t control how people perceive you.<\/p>\n<p>**From \u2018Yummy Mummy\u2019 to Murugi Munyi**<\/p>\n<p>Murugi\u2019s journey into full-time content creation began in 2018 when she left her formal job after landing her first brand deal worth KSh 100,000.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; \u201cThat was the moment I realised I could actually make a living from content. I quit my job and never looked back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Initially known online as *Yummy Mummy*, she rebranded to her real name in 2022, saying the original moniker began to feel restrictive.<\/p>\n<p>&gt; \u201cThere are so many \u2018Yummy Mummies\u2019 out there, and I wanted to be seen beyond motherhood.
