Actress, DJ, and media personality Pierra Makena<\/strong> recently shared her deeply personal and inspiring journey during a candid interview on Dr. Ofweneke\u2019s show<\/em> on TV47. From a young girl in Meru to becoming one of Kenya\u2019s pioneering female DJs, Pierra\u2019s story is one of resilience, ambition, and breaking barriers in the male-dominated entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

From School Drama to TV Stardom<\/h3>\n

Pierra\u2019s career took off when she was just 17 years old. After impressing at school drama festivals, she was scouted by Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) and cast in the iconic show Tausi<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n

“KBC scouted me because of my acting. That\u2019s where it all started,” she recalled.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Dr. Ofweneke, who first met Pierra during his time at Aga Khan High School, praised her early accomplishments and courage in entering spaces few women dared to explore at the time.<\/p>\n

Facing Criticism as a Female DJ<\/h3>\n

Breaking into the DJ scene was far from easy. Pierra revealed that her toughest critics were often fellow DJs, many of whom didn\u2019t take kindly to her presence.<\/p>\n

\n

“Fellow DJs were my biggest critics. Someone even paid a Twitter troll to attack me,” she said, exposing the entrenched sexism she had to endure.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Her challenges extended beyond the turntables. Pierra revealed she lost a brand endorsement solely because she is a single mother.<\/p>\n

“They said their image couldn\u2019t be tied to \u2018single moms,\u2019” she lamented.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Adding to the public scrutiny, rumors swirled around the identity of her child\u2019s father, with many speculating it was DJ Moh. Pierra firmly dismissed the claim:<\/p>\n

\n

“We\u2019re just good friends. Period.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Launching The Mom\u2019s Club<\/em> \u2014 A New Chapter<\/h3>\n

Despite the obstacles, Pierra remains focused on uplifting others. She announced her upcoming platform, The Mom\u2019s Club<\/em>, which launches on May 30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“It will be a safe space where moms can share both struggles and victories,” she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She cheekily added that the show might finally put to rest public curiosity about her love life:<\/p>\n

“If you\u2019re curious about my baby\u2019s dad or my love life, that\u2019s where you\u2019ll hear it.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Ending on a Light Note<\/h3>\n

The interview ended with a dose of humor. When Dr. Ofweneke asked about her sexuality, Pierra playfully responded:<\/p>\n
