He argued that asking for KSh310 was modest compared to the amounts some churches demand from their congregants.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"1184\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"957\" data-end=\"1184\">\u201cI was just asking for a seed of KSh310 and promising a blessing. I don\u2019t see what\u2019s wrong with that. Other churches ask for KSh7,000 or even KSh10,000\u2014some even request land, goats, and sheep. I only asked for 310,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1186\" data-end=\"1209\">\u201cGod Instructed Me\u201d<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1211\" data-end=\"1412\">According to Kanyari, the \u2018Seed of 310\u2019 idea was not a personal scheme but a divine instruction. He claimed that the overwhelming response from his followers was evidence that the message was from God.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1590\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1416\" data-end=\"1590\">\u201cIt was God who told me to do it\u2014and you saw how people responded. They sent the money because God said so. If it wasn\u2019t from God, they wouldn\u2019t have sent anything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1623\">Still Believes in Its Power<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1625\" data-end=\"1773\">Kanyari questioned why people still criticize the initiative, insisting he continues to believe in its spiritual value and potential to help others.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1775\" data-end=\"1887\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1777\" data-end=\"1887\">\u201cIf I asked for KSh310 back then and stood with people, why can\u2019t I bless them with the same today?\u201d he posed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"1889\" data-end=\"1931\">\u201cI Started Asking Because I Was Broke\u201d<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1933\" data-end=\"2105\">Speaking to his congregation in January 2024, Kanyari admitted that his decision to launch the 310 campaign was not only spiritual but also driven by financial desperation.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2107\" data-end=\"2294\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2109\" data-end=\"2294\">\u201cI was the main preacher in Nairobi back then. Ezekiel and Ng\u2019ang\u2019a weren\u2019t around yet. But I had no money\u2014poverty had really hit me. That\u2019s why I started asking for 310,\u201d he confessed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2296\" data-end=\"2386\">He added that while he lacked wealth, he believed God had blessed him with healing powers.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2388\" data-end=\"2545\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2390\" data-end=\"2545\">\u201cI didn\u2019t know God had given me wisdom through that. I had to find money. God gave me anointing\u2014not for wealth, but for healing.
