The visit triggered a swift backlash, most notably from former Deputy President <strong data-start=\"398\" data-end=\"418\">Rigathi Gachagua<\/strong>, who accused the artists of betraying their community.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"475\" data-end=\"868\">The meeting\u2014which also included musicians <strong data-start=\"517\" data-end=\"534\">Jose Gatutura<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"536\" data-end=\"550\">Ben Githae<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"570\">Karangu Muraya<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"588\">DJ Fatxo<\/strong>\u2014has been perceived by some as a political statement amid ongoing tensions between Gachagua and Kindiki. Gachagua, speaking at a church event, claimed the musicians had each been paid <strong data-start=\"772\" data-end=\"786\">KSh 50,000<\/strong> to endorse government initiatives such as the <strong data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"866\">Social Health Authority (SHA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"1157\">\u201cIf they do not apologise, we\u2019ll stop listening to their music. Clubs should stop inviting them. Online, just unfollow them,\u201d Gachagua said, adding that he had consulted community elders before making the statement. He branded the artists <em data-start=\"1109\" data-end=\"1128\">wasaliti wa jamii<\/em> (traitors to the community).<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1188\">Samidoh\u2019s Subtle Clapback<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1190\" data-end=\"1567\">Following the backlash, Samidoh took to social media with a cryptic post:<br data-start=\"1263\" data-end=\"1266\" \/><strong data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1304\">\u201cIn a war of ego, the loser wins.\u201d<\/strong><br data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1307\" \/>The message stirred speculation, with many interpreting it as a veiled response to Gachagua\u2019s attack. In the comment section, one Facebook user joked:<br data-start=\"1457\" data-end=\"1460\" \/><strong data-start=\"1460\" data-end=\"1565\">\u201cSamidoh thought that they were going to visit Karen Nyamu, only to find himself in the wrong Karen.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1569\" data-end=\"1749\">Samidoh, known for his quick wit, cheekily replied:<br data-start=\"1620\" data-end=\"1623\" \/><strong data-start=\"1623\" data-end=\"1657\">\u201cMnajua mimi ni mtoto yatima?\u201d<\/strong> (<em data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1687\">Do you know I\u2019m an orphan?<\/em>)\u2014a lighthearted remark that briefly softened the mood online.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1751\" data-end=\"1778\">Balancing Act in Rongai<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1780\" data-end=\"1971\">Interestingly, just hours before Gachagua\u2019s condemnation, Samidoh had performed in <strong data-start=\"1863\" data-end=\"1873\">Rongai<\/strong>, where he praised the former DP in a Kikuyu folk rendition that seemed to reaffirm his loyalty:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1972\" data-end=\"2214\">\n<p data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"2214\">\u201cHatuwachi Gachagua wetu tukienda, tukienda kwa baba. Even when others resent him, he remains a man. Where men are, we are.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2216\" data-end=\"2317\">The song was met with thunderous applause, deepening public speculation over his political alignment.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2319\" data-end=\"2352\">Artists Defend Their Presence<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2354\" data-end=\"2545\">During the Karen meeting, Samidoh jokingly introduced himself as a gospel artist and closed his remarks with \u201c<strong data-start=\"2464\" data-end=\"2473\">Tutam<\/strong>,\u201d a cheeky nod to the current administration\u2019s hopes for a second term.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2547\" data-end=\"2667\">Jose Gatutura also spoke out amid the criticism, clarifying that their attendance did not signal political allegiance:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2668\" data-end=\"2823\">\n<p data-start=\"2670\" data-end=\"2823\">\u201cI\u2019m a neutral artist. I have fans from both sides. Music is my livelihood\u2014we don\u2019t have salaries.
