Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Rigathi Gachagua, has ignited a political firestorm by publicly accusing President William Ruto of establishing a secret police death squad responsible for targeting innocent Kenyans.<\/p>\n
Addressing worshippers at a church service in Kirinyaga County, Gachagua alleged that this covert unit comprises <\/span>101 specially trained officers<\/span> tasked with carrying out abductions, torture, assassinations, and elaborate cover-ups.<\/span> He further claimed that the National Intelligence Service (NIS), under the leadership of Director General Noordin Haji, supported the formation and operation of this alleged squad.<\/p>\n Gachagua explicitly linked the recent death of activist Albert Ojwang\u2019\u2014who died in police custody under disputed circumstances\u2014to this alleged group. He suggested that Ojwang\u2019s case is merely “a tip of the iceberg,” with dozens of similar cases having been concealed from the public.<\/p>\n \u201cThis issue (Ojwang\u2019s death) is just a tip of the iceberg,\u201d Gachagua told the congregation. \u201cHundreds of young people have been tortured to death by a special squad of 101 officers that was set up on the instruction of William Ruto and seconded to NIS, and highly trained on abductions, torture, killings and cover-ups.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The DCP leader held President Ruto personally responsible for these alleged deaths, calling for legal action and urging the international community to intervene. \u201cWilliam Ruto cannot run away from these deaths.
