Sudi, in a post on his X account on June 30, 2025, criticized groups for hijacking peaceful Gen Z protests and turning them into violent events, including assaults on police stations.<\/p>\n
Sudi\u2019s remarks come amid widespread public debate following Murkomen’s directive, which was issued after violent protests on June 25, 2025, concerning the controversial 2024 Finance Bill. In a passionate video shared on social media, Sudi dismissed criticism against police officers and defended their actions during confrontations.<\/p>\n
According to Murkomen, at least ten Kenyans died during the June 25 protests, and the government is investigating the circumstances of their deaths.<\/p>\n
“I have seen discussions on crooks, thieves, and those who took advantage of Gen Z during the demonstrations, used by politicians\u2014whose plan was it?” Sudi questioned. “What amazes me is the debate on whether one should be shot or not when they storm a police station.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Sudi asserted that storming police stations or attempting to seize weapons crosses a critical line. “You cannot storm the police station and be left like that\u2014it is like throwing Kenya into sewage,” he warned, emphasizing that such actions threaten national order and must be met with firm resistance.<\/p>\n
Respect for Authority Has Eroded<\/h3>\n
Reflecting on past societal values, Sudi expressed concern over what he perceives as a decline in respect for institutions.<\/p>\n
“In our good olden days, we used to respect even the Chief, let alone the police,” he stated. He criticized some Kenyans for, in his view, misusing democratic freedoms. “This constitution helped us gain democracy, but people now think they can do anything.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
