Kenyan social media personality 2Mbili \u00a0has vehemently denied accusations made by former police spokesperson Charles Owino, who claims 2Mbili led a mob to torch Mawego Police Station. The incident occurred on <\/span>July 3, 2025<\/span>, during the funeral procession of slain blogger Albert Ojwang’ in Homa Bay County.<\/span><\/p>\n

Owino, in a recent interview, explicitly accused 2Mbili of inciting Gen Z protesters to seize Ojwang\u2019s body and set the station ablaze, escalating tensions surrounding the blogger\u2019s death in police custody on June 7.<\/p>\n

“There was incitement by Mr. 2Mbili, leading youths to grab the body and torch the station,\u201d Owino asserted. \u201cWho protects that village when they leave?\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Station Torched Amidst Protests for Justice<\/h3>\n

Emotions ran high as protesters, demanding justice for Ojwang’, stormed the station where he was allegedly held before his transfer to Nairobi Central Police Station.<\/span> Videos shared by 2Mbili on social media captured the crowd chanting and marching with the casket, which was draped in Kenyan and Manchester United flags. Soon after, the station was engulfed in flames, with officers reportedly standing by helplessly.<\/p>\n

2Mbili responded to Owino’s accusation on Instagram, posting a clip of the interview with a sarcastic caption: \u201cMzee ameamua kunipeana tu hivo? (Has the old man just decided to hand me over like that?).\u201d His light-hearted jab amused fans but noticeably sidestepped directly addressing the serious allegations.<\/p>\n
