The launch event, held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), drew massive crowds and quickly ignited debate online.<\/p>\n

The showcase was intended as a celebration of Kenya\u2019s vibrant matatu culture, but it stirred mixed reactions. While some applauded the creativity and investment in the iconic public transport sector, others viewed the fanfare with skepticism.<\/p>\n

Among the critics was lawyer and political commentator Ndegwa Njiru, who questioned the integrity of the young Kenyans who attended the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are the same people who claim to stand for accountability, say they\u2019re partyless and tribeless, and demand good governance? Really?\u201d he posed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Octopizzo: Separate the Culture from Politics<\/h3>\n

Rapper Octopizzo, a long-time supporter of matatu culture, weighed in with a more nuanced perspective. He urged Kenyans to draw a clear line between cultural expression and political affiliation.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust because George Ruto appreciates matatu culture doesn\u2019t mean the culture endorses the Kenya Kwanza government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He pointed out that matatu culture, or Ma3 Culture<\/em>, reflects the spirit of the people\u2014resilient, independent, and often resistant to political influence.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThe enemy is not George. The enemy is bad governance and a system that kills its own people. Let\u2019s focus on the real issues,\u201d Octopizzo added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Online Backlash and Family Lines<\/h3>\n

The rapper also addressed the tendency of some critics to drag family members into political debates. Responding to users who targeted George Ruto because of his father\u2019s position, Octopizzo made it clear that grievances should be aimed at those in power\u2014not their relatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I\u2019ve got beef with you, that\u2019s between us. Don\u2019t come for my son just because he shares my name. He\u2019s not in the fight. We talk about justice, but then attack people who aren\u2019t even involved,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He emphasized the need to remain human even in the face of injustice:<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, this government has blood on its hands\u2014no question. But let\u2019s stay grounded. Demand accountability, yes. But don\u2019t let anger cloud your judgment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
