Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has insisted she was the one who ended her relationship with Mugithi star Samidoh, dismissing claims that she was dumped. In a recent exchange with her followers online, the politician clapped back at suggestions that Samidoh had been the one to walk away.<\/p>\n
“Am I the one singing Karen Nyamu\u2019s name in all mugithis every weekend?” she said. “When a woman has money, the only thing she wants is to be a single mum. Faking happiness in marriage and spreading bitterness on social media… is not life.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
“Toxic Love”: Samidoh’s Side of the Story<\/h3>\n
Nyamu\u2019s remarks were a direct response to Samidoh’s emotional track “Toxic Love,” which she claims he dedicated to her. In the song, the musician sings of a painful and complicated romance he cannot seem to walk away from. The lyrics describe him as a \u201cvictim of love\u201d torn between his heart and his intuition. He laments hearing that his lover values a luxurious life (a Range Rover) more than his art (a guitar), but ultimately confesses he must free himself from the \u201cprison of love.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
The ongoing public drama returned to the spotlight in July 2025, after a video of Samidoh passionately kissing his wife, <\/span>Edday Nderitu<\/span>, in the United States went viral.<\/span> The public kiss inevitably drew Nyamu\u2019s name into the conversation, with one fan asking her directly: “Senator did you see Samidoh kiss?”<\/p>\n
Never one to shy away from a sharp retort, Nyamu shot back:<\/p>\n
“Then when he kisses me on Friday you\u2019ll start drama.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
