Kenya Power announced that several counties will experience planned outages<\/strong> on October 24<\/strong> as part of maintenance work. The outages are expected to run from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.<\/strong> in most areas.
\nThis is not an unexpected blackout, but part of ongoing efforts to upgrade and maintain the electricity distribution network.<\/p>\n

Areas Affected & What to Expect<\/h2>\n

Here are some of the specific locations included in the outage notice:<\/p>\n

  • \n

    Nairobi County<\/strong>
    Power will be interrupted in parts of Muthaiga<\/strong> \u2014 including Karura Avenue<\/strong>, Mini Market<\/strong>, Muthaiga Road, and embassies nearby (e.g. Israel, USA, Belgium, Ghana, Italy, Austria, Tanzania) and other adjacent customers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Narok County<\/strong> (Central Rift Region)
    Areas such as Dikirr<\/strong>, Mokondo<\/strong>, Kirindoni<\/strong>, and several other localities like Esoit<\/strong>, Murkan<\/strong>, Kurangurik<\/strong>, Mamboleo<\/strong>, Kapolecho<\/strong>, Simotwet<\/strong>, Kapweria<\/strong>, Tumda<\/strong>, Kiletien<\/strong>, Chemmamit<\/strong>, Kiriwet<\/strong>, and Kapsinendet<\/strong> will face the outage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Kisii County<\/strong>
    Parts of Kisii County will experience power outages in places including Keumbu<\/strong> and Kiandege<\/strong>, with public facilities such as Keumbu Sub-County Hospital, Keumbu Market, Riondonga Secondary, Kiangende Polytechnic, and neighboring customers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Migori County<\/strong>
