Speaking on the ALEX MWAKIDEU TV (AMTV)<\/em> podcast, YY spoke candidly about the end of his previous relationship, explaining the reasoning behind his decision to walk away and how he continues to prioritize fatherhood and emotional maturity.<\/p>\n

The Decision to Walk Away<\/h3>\n

YY confirmed that his breakup was not caused by infidelity, clarifying that \u201cthere was no cheating involved.\u201d Instead, he said the separation came after serious disagreements over personal principles and boundaries \u2014 issues that he could not ignore.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThere are certain mistakes you can forgive once. But if someone repeats them, they know what they\u2019re doing,\u201d he said firmly.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The comedian admitted that one of his biggest fears was how the public would perceive him if he chose to end the relationship. Despite that, he realized he could not continue building a future that didn\u2019t align with his values.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told myself I\u2019d rather end it than build a life I don\u2019t want,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

YY shared that he had clearly communicated his relationship boundaries from the beginning, telling his partner and even her friend that certain lines should never be crossed \u2014 and that if they were, he would walk away.<\/p>\n

Reaching Out to the Parents<\/h3>\n

In a rare show of accountability, YY revealed that he personally reached out to his ex-partner\u2019s father to explain the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI called the dad myself, yes I did,\u201d he said. \u201cI told him his daughter knew my boundaries, but she still went ahead and crossed them. I felt really bad that I had to disappoint that man.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He described the moment as painful but necessary \u2014 a gesture meant to close that chapter with honesty and respect.<\/p>\n

Co-Parenting with Grace<\/h3>\n

Despite the emotional challenges of the breakup, YY said he and his ex-partner have found a way to co-parent their daughter successfully.<\/p>\n

He explained that he has made a conscious decision never to speak ill of the mother of his child in public, out of respect for their shared responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t open my mouth to say anything bad about her. She gave birth to my daughter,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

YY added that he remains fully committed to his parental duties \u2014 covering school fees, medical expenses, and spending time with his daughter every weekend from Friday to Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou must always bow below the child,\u201d he said, emphasizing that the child\u2019s happiness and stability must come first.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He also noted that when he is with his daughter, he only speaks positively about her mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen a woman is no longer under your care, you owe her no argument,\u201d he said, urging co-parents to focus on peace, not conflict.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Lessons in Letting Go<\/h3>\n

For YY, the breakup was a lesson in emotional maturity and personal boundaries. He advised parents in similar situations to learn how to \u201cdetach emotionally\u201d \u2014 not from their children, but from the emotional turmoil that often accompanies separation.<\/p>\n
