{"id":230546,"date":"2025-11-06T08:36:17","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T05:36:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/?p=230546"},"modified":"2025-11-06T08:36:17","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T05:36:17","slug":"revealed-azziads-fight-against-sacco-to-secure-her-ksh-21-million-apartment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/revealed-azziads-fight-against-sacco-to-secure-her-ksh-21-million-apartment\/","title":{"rendered":"Revealed: Azziad&#8217;s fight against SACCO to secure her Ksh 21 million apartment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"261\">Kenyan influencer and media personality <strong data-start=\"40\" data-end=\"58\">Azziad Nasenya<\/strong> has moved to court to stop the auction of her high-end Kileleshwa apartment, accusing a savings and credit cooperative of <strong data-start=\"181\" data-end=\"226\">illegally attempting to sell her property<\/strong> valued at over <strong data-start=\"242\" data-end=\"258\">Sh20 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"263\" data-end=\"504\">The case, now before the <strong data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"319\">Commercial Court in Nairobi<\/strong>, pits Azziad against <strong data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"391\">Qona Deposit Taking Savings and Credit Society<\/strong>, which she claims <strong data-start=\"410\" data-end=\"443\">breached their loan agreement<\/strong> and acted unlawfully in listing her apartment for auction.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"506\" data-end=\"509\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"511\" data-end=\"528\">The Dispute<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"530\" data-end=\"792\">According to court documents, Azziad took a <strong data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"595\">Sh21 million loan<\/strong> from the Sacco, using her luxurious Kileleshwa unit as collateral. However, after falling behind on repayment, the Sacco reportedly moved to recover the loan by putting the property up for sale.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"935\">Azziad says this move was both <strong data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"849\">\u201crushed and illegal\u201d<\/strong>, arguing that she had <strong data-start=\"872\" data-end=\"900\">already resumed payments<\/strong> and cleared most of the arrears.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"1204\">By <strong data-start=\"940\" data-end=\"958\">September 2025<\/strong>, she had allegedly paid <strong data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1021\">Sh4.2 million out of Sh5.1 million<\/strong> owed in arrears \u2014 yet, despite her efforts, the Sacco <strong data-start=\"1076\" data-end=\"1115\">advertised the property for auction<\/strong> on <strong data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1132\">October 8<\/strong>, with the notice appearing in the <em data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1181\">Daily Nation<\/em> on <strong data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1201\">September 24<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1206\" data-end=\"1399\">\u201cI was shocked to see my apartment listed for sale,\u201d she states in her affidavit, adding that she was <strong data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1377\">never served with any statutory notice or repayment demand letter<\/strong> as required by law.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1401\" data-end=\"1404\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1406\" data-end=\"1437\">The Apartment in Question<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1613\">The property at the center of the dispute is part of a <strong data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1527\">modern twin-tower development<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1545\">Kileleshwa<\/strong>, strategically positioned between <strong data-start=\"1580\" data-end=\"1593\">Lavington<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1610\">Kilimani<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1615\" data-end=\"1774\">The <strong data-start=\"1619\" data-end=\"1639\">17-floor complex<\/strong> features <strong data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1679\">99 family-sized apartments<\/strong>, mostly <strong data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1732\">four- and five-bedroom all-ensuite units<\/strong> with <strong data-start=\"1738\" data-end=\"1771\">domestic staff quarters (DSQ)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1776\" data-end=\"2050\">High-end finishes include <strong data-start=\"1802\" data-end=\"1827\">spacious living areas<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1829\" data-end=\"1857\">floor-to-ceiling windows<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1859\" data-end=\"1872\">balconies<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1874\" data-end=\"1907\">fitted kitchens with pantries<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1913\" data-end=\"1932\">wooden flooring<\/strong>. Residents also enjoy <strong data-start=\"1955\" data-end=\"2021\">a swimming pool, gym, landscaped gardens, children\u2019s play area<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"2027\" data-end=\"2047\">24-hour security<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2052\" data-end=\"2256\">Azziad further claims the Sacco\u2019s auction notice <strong data-start=\"2101\" data-end=\"2157\">misrepresented her unit as a three-bedroom apartment<\/strong>, a move she says would <strong data-start=\"2181\" data-end=\"2208\">undervalue her property<\/strong> and result in <strong data-start=\"2223\" data-end=\"2253\">significant financial loss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2258\" data-end=\"2261\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2263\" data-end=\"2281\">Legal Action<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2283\" data-end=\"2444\">Through her lawyer, the influencer is seeking a <strong data-start=\"2331\" data-end=\"2351\">court injunction<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"2355\" data-end=\"2402\">bar the Sacco from proceeding with the sale<\/strong> until the case is heard and determined.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2446\" data-end=\"2563\">She accuses Qona Sacco of <strong data-start=\"2472\" data-end=\"2495\">acting in bad faith<\/strong> by ignoring her repayment efforts and violating the agreed terms.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2565\" data-end=\"2673\">The Sacco has <strong data-start=\"2579\" data-end=\"2615\">not yet issued a public response<\/strong> or filed an official defense regarding the allegations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kenyan influencer and media personality Azziad Nasenya has moved to court to stop the auction of her high-end Kileleshwa apartment, accusing a savings and credit cooperative of illegally attempting to sell her property valued at over Sh20 million.
