It\u2019s about what was inside,\u201d he lamented, revealing that the stolen devices contained important work files and even <strong data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"813\">court documents<\/strong> tied to a judgment scheduled for the following day.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr data-start=\"869\" data-end=\"872\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"921\"><strong data-start=\"878\" data-end=\"921\">The Digital Chase: From Ngong to Mukono<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1061\">According to Baba Talisha, he immediately used Apple\u2019s <strong data-start=\"977\" data-end=\"988\">Find My<\/strong> feature to locate his <strong data-start=\"1011\" data-end=\"1032\">iPhone 15 Pro Max<\/strong> shortly after it vanished.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1275\">At first, the phone appeared to be stationary in <strong data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1137\">Ngong, Kajiado County<\/strong>, for nearly seven hours \u2014 giving him hope that it could still be recovered. He promptly alerted authorities and shared the coordinates.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1451\">\n<p data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1451\">\u201cI tried calling the relevant authorities who were supposed to help, but weuh&#8230; I got really disappointed,\u201d he confessed, expressing frustration at the lack of response.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1453\" data-end=\"1624\">Soon after, the phone began moving \u2014 and fast. The tracker showed it speeding toward <strong data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1548\">Kisumu<\/strong>, more than <strong data-start=\"1560\" data-end=\"1578\">350 kilometers<\/strong> away, along the <strong data-start=\"1595\" data-end=\"1621\">Kisumu-Nairobi Highway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1453\" data-end=\"1624\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-230684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/11\/Baba-Talishas-iPhone-in-Uganda-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/11\/Baba-Talishas-iPhone-in-Uganda-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/11\/Baba-Talishas-iPhone-in-Uganda-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/11\/Baba-Talishas-iPhone-in-Uganda.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1626\" data-end=\"1798\">By around <strong data-start=\"1636\" data-end=\"1647\">11 p.m.<\/strong>, the device appeared in <strong data-start=\"1672\" data-end=\"1681\">Ahero<\/strong>, prompting Baba Talisha to suspect it was being transported on a <strong data-start=\"1747\" data-end=\"1768\">long-distance bus<\/strong> heading out of the country.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1800\" data-end=\"1925\">\n<p data-start=\"1802\" data-end=\"1925\">\u201cI could tell it was in a bus because it paused for about 20 minutes like long-distance buses normally do,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"1927\" data-end=\"2041\">Moments later, the phone crossed the border. Its final known location? <strong data-start=\"1998\" data-end=\"2039\">Jinja\u2013Kampala Road in Mukono, Uganda.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2043\" data-end=\"2093\">Then came the message every iPhone owner dreads:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2094\" data-end=\"2138\">\n<p data-start=\"2096\" data-end=\"2138\"><em data-start=\"2096\" data-end=\"2136\">\u201cFind My has been disabled on iPhone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2140\" data-end=\"2238\">The thieves had successfully signed out of his iCloud account \u2014 cutting off all tracking access.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"2240\" data-end=\"2243\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"2245\" data-end=\"2295\"><strong data-start=\"2249\" data-end=\"2295\">\u201cThe Thieves Are the First to Buy Tickets\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2296\" data-end=\"2494\">In a string of emotional Instagram stories, Baba Talisha warned his followers to be extra vigilant during public events, saying phone thieves are becoming increasingly brazen and well-coordinated.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2496\" data-end=\"2621\">\n<p data-start=\"2498\" data-end=\"2621\">\u201cThe thieves are the first people to buy those tickets because they know they\u2019ll go home with over 20+ phones,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2623\" data-end=\"2796\">For the TikToker, the real loss wasn\u2019t the high-end gadgets but the <strong data-start=\"2691\" data-end=\"2735\">memories, data, and professional content<\/strong> locked inside them \u2014 work that now may never be recovered.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2798\" data-end=\"3016\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">As his story continues to trend online, Kenyans are calling on authorities to crack down on cross-border phone theft syndicates that are turning tech-savvy artistry into a nightmare for the country\u2019s digital creatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Popular Kenyan TikToker and photographer Faustine \u2018Baba Talisha\u2019 has been left devastated after one of his stolen iPhones was tracked all the way from Ngong to Uganda \u2014 only for the signal to go dead once thieves disabled its tracking system.
