Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has opened up about a painful health scare that left him requiring surgery \u2014 all caused by a long-standing habit of biting his nails and trimming them with a razor blade.<\/p>\n
Salasya revealed that he developed a severe abscess on his finger, which doctors traced to poor nail hygiene. The infection became so serious that it required a surgical procedure to drain and treat it.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt Led to a Surgical Operation\u201d<\/p>\n
Sharing details on social media, the MP admitted that his own grooming habits were to blame.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor those of us who don\u2019t cut our nails properly \u2014 using razor blades or biting them like me \u2014 now look, it has led to this surgical operation.\u201d<\/p>\n
He described the procedure as extremely painful and urged his followers to avoid similar habits.<\/p>\n

Salasya also posted an image showing the aftermath of the operation. In the photo, he wears a light short-sleeved shirt with a blue-and-white pattern while holding up his heavily bandaged right index finger. The MP has since vowed to change his ways.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday I\u2019m buying a nail cutter. I\u2019ve refused to bite my nails \u2014 the pain I\u2019ve felt and the abscess that was removed, let\u2019s leave it at that.\u201d<\/p>\n
