The children of late gospel singer Betty Bayo are reportedly showing worrying changes in behaviour following her death, according to their biological father, Pastor Victor Kanyari.<\/p>\n
Speaking during last Sunday\u2019s service at Salvation Healing Ministries, the controversial preacher opened up about the challenges he says he is now facing with his children, Sky and Danivictor, in the weeks after their mother\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n
Betty Bayo died on Monday, November 10, while undergoing treatment for acute myeloid leukaemia, and was laid to rest on November 20 at her Kiambu home.<\/p>\n
Addressing his congregation, Kanyari claimed that his children\u2019s behaviour has noticeably shifted since their mother died, describing them as becoming \u201cwakali kiasi.\u201d<\/p>\n
The pastor said he was unsettled by the change, questioning whether the children were being influenced negatively.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince their mother died, they have become somewhat aggressive. I don\u2019t even know whether they are being taught wrongly or what\u2026 they are questioning me so much,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
His remarks quickly drew attention online, with many reacting to his public airing of the issue.<\/p>\n
Kanyari\u2019s comments come at a time when public debate over the children\u2019s future remains heated.<\/p>\n
Since Betty\u2019s death, Sky and Danivictor have continued living with their stepfather, Hiram Gitau, popularly known as Tash, who had been raising them alongside their mother.<\/p>\n
The matter escalated after Betty\u2019s mother publicly urged Kanyari to take responsibility for the children and questioned why they were still under Tash\u2019s care.<\/p>\n
During the same sermon, Kanyari reiterated that he is ready to take over full responsibility for his children, explaining that he had deliberately delayed action to avoid conflict and respect Tash\u2019s role.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is the father who sired them and the one who raised them. We are two fathers,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I wanted conflict, I would have gone there with people and demanded my children. But I did not want war.\u201d<\/p>\n
He went on to reveal that he has secured a residence in Runda, valued at approximately KSh 91 million, where he plans to live with the children and Betty Bayo\u2019s sister.<\/p>\n
According to the preacher, the house is fully processed and ready for occupation.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think this week I may take them and stay with them. I will raise them,\u201d he told congregants.<\/p>\n
Despite his bold declaration, Kanyari did not explain how the custody transition would be handled or whether legal procedures would be followed.<\/p>\n
