Media personality Kamene Goro has finally cleared the air regarding the viral “body count” story that has shadowed her career for years. In a revealing interview with Alex Mwakideu on his YouTube channel, shared on January 3, 2026, the former radio queen confessed that the number that sparked a national debate was entirely fabricated.<\/p>\n
For years, Kamene was the subject of intense public judgment after a video surfaced in 2018 in which she stated her body count was 27. However, she has now revealed that the figure was a “bait” tactic for a planned sexual health awareness campaign.<\/p>\n
\n“There were many stories, even that body count story, which was not true by the way. Can we just get that clear?” Kamene told a shocked Mwakideu. When the host asked if she had simply lied, Kamene explained, “Yes. It was to bait for a campaign on sexual health awareness. That was the number I was given to say.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
She joked that her current marriage to DJ Bonez likely wouldn’t exist if the rumors had been true, but she quickly pivoted to the serious toll the “honest” lie took on her life.<\/p>\n

While the number was fake, the consequences were devastatingly real. Kamene shared a heartbreaking detail for the first time: the night the video went viral, her father kicked her out of their family home.<\/p>\n
\n“I was chased out in the middle of the night, at 3:00 AM, by my father because of that body count video,” she revealed. With no preparation and nowhere to go, she found herself forced into a sudden, expensive adulthood. She moved into the Park Inn by Radisson Blu, paying KSh 11,500 per night for a month\u2014an experience she says taught her the hard way that “money comes and goes.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite the trauma, Kamene told Mwakideu she has no regrets because the “mess-up” built the discipline she possesses today. The ordeal forced her to learn how to stand on her own feet and plan for her future as an independent woman.<\/p>\n
