Geoffrey Mosiria, a senior official in the Nairobi County government, has triggered heated online debate after issuing a cautionary message to men about their partners\u2019 gym routines.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy social media post, Mosiria argued that, for some couples, gyms have quietly become spaces where emotional infidelity begins, often unnoticed.<\/p>\n

The Attention Gap<\/h3>\n

At the centre of Mosiria\u2019s argument is the lifestyle of affluent and career-driven men. He observed that many spend long hours in meetings and business, leaving home early and returning late, mentally and physically drained.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first, it looks innocent and healthy. But behind the scenes, there is a reality many men are too busy to notice,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

According to Mosiria, this relentless focus on building wealth can leave wives and girlfriends feeling isolated, creating emotional gaps that are sometimes filled by gym instructors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gym instructor is not only training your wife or girlfriend; at times, he is also giving her the attention, time, and care she doesn\u2019t get from you,\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n

From Fitness to Emotional Attachment<\/h3>\n

Mosiria described what he sees as a gradual shift in such relationships, where a trainer evolves from a fitness professional into a confidant and emotional substitute. He suggested that what begins as a wellness goal can slowly develop into emotional dependence.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat started as fitness slowly becomes attachment. She comes home tired but emotionally distant. And since you are busy chasing money and building wealth, you don\u2019t even notice,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He warned that this emotional drift can lead to physical distance at home, painting a picture of couples sharing a bed but sleeping \u201cfacing the wall,\u201d connected only by their backs.<\/p>\n

Mosiria also raised concerns about the financial consequences of such situations, suggesting that in some cases, money earned through hard work may end up funding another man\u2019s lifestyle through gifts, favours, or support.<\/p>\n

Health and Relationship Risks<\/h3>\n

Beyond emotional strain, the county official highlighted potential health risks, warning that secret relationships could expose families to sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n

He argued that many modern households are collapsing not because of financial hardship, but due to neglect, secrecy, and hidden lifestyles.<\/p>\n

\u201cProtect your relationship the same way you protect your wealth. Money can be recovered. Trust cannot,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n
