He had his phone held out, filming a video for his followers, when he suddenly heard a motorbike approaching from behind.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"531\" data-end=\"691\">At first, he paid little attention to the sound. However, within moments, the situation escalated when a passenger on the motorbike attempted to grab his phone.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"866\">\u201cThis guy tries to snatch my phone. It ends up flying across the road. So now it&#8217;s a race between me and my man on the back of a motorbike to get to the phone,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"868\" data-end=\"1037\">Instead of successfully taking the device, the force of the attempted snatch sent the phone flying onto the road, triggering a scramble between Ndung\u2019u and the attacker.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1uhkuf4\" data-start=\"1039\" data-end=\"1066\">Split-Second Reaction<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1068\" data-end=\"1183\">Thinking quickly, Ndung\u2019u sprinted toward the phone and managed to retrieve it before the assailant could reach it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1301\">\u201cLuckily, I got to the phone first. I picked it up off the road. Then I was like, what are you doing, man?\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1428\">For a brief moment, he confronted the suspect, questioning his actions. But the situation quickly took a more dangerous turn.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"mliav7\" data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1459\">Confrontation Escalates<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1608\">According to Ndung\u2019u, the man fixed him with a stare and began reaching toward his waist \u2014 a move often interpreted as an attempt to draw a weapon.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1610\" data-end=\"1702\">Sensing the immediate threat, the journalist chose to flee rather than risk a confrontation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1704\" data-end=\"1873\">\u201cThis guy looked at me in the eyes, started reaching for his waist. I was like, \u2018Yeah, you know what? I can run. I\u2019m just dashing, bro.\u2019 I dashed so fast,\u201d he recounted.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1hk87g0\" data-start=\"1875\" data-end=\"1894\">Narrow Escape<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1896\" data-end=\"2065\">Ndung\u2019u then ran at full speed, with one suspect chasing him on foot while the motorbike followed closely behind.
