Key concerns include:<\/p>\n<p>Defiance of Court Orders: Senator Catherine Mumma noted that evictions on May 14 and June 18, 2025, allegedly occurred despite a standing conservatory order issued by the court on May 30.<\/p>\n<p>Allegations of Brutality: Affidavits submitted to the committee describe county officials and unidentified individuals breaking into homes, looting valuables, and forcibly removing tenants.<\/p>\n<h2>Seven Months of Silence<\/h2>\n<p>Committee Chair Hillary Sigei expressed frustration over Sakaja\u2019s repeated absences, noting the Governor has ignored the committee for nearly seven months without providing a formal explanation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This committee will not be ignored,&#8221; Sigei stated. &#8220;If he fails to honor this summons, we will instruct the Inspector General of Police to facilitate his arrest and bring him before this committee.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>A Pattern of Non-Compliance<\/h2>\n<p>This is not the first time the Governor has played a game of hide-and-seek with the Senate:<\/p>\n<p>CPAC Conflict: Just weeks ago, the County Public Accounts Committee (CPAC) issued a similar arrest notice.<\/p>\n<p>Police Intervention: On March 30, police reportedly surrounded Sakaja\u2019s office to enforce an arrest warrant, though the Governor was not found on the premises.<\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s Next?<\/h2>\n<p>Senator Veronica Maina confirmed that Inspector General Douglas Kanja is already on notice.
