Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions set to affect several counties across the country on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, as part of ongoing network maintenance.<\/p>\n
According to the utility company, the planned outages will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in selected areas within the Coast, North Eastern, Nairobi, and North Rift regions.<\/p>\n
Coast Region
\nKilifi County<\/p>\n
Residents in parts of Majengo Kanamai and surrounding areas in Kilifi County should prepare for day-long electricity interruptions.<\/p>\n
Areas expected to be affected include Mvita Oils, Indomie, Majengo Mapya, Mwatundo, Kwa Kanyi, Khosla Farm, Kikambala Housing, North Coast Medical, Bomani Pentagon, Bomani Dispensary, Bomani Kireme, Chess Kenya, Ashton EPZ, Tropical Sealife, Oasis Hospital, Petrocity Kanamai, Africa Fuels, Jodari Millers, Fuhuha EPZ, parts of Mzambarauni, Mtwapa, and nearby customers.<\/p>\n
Kwale County<\/p>\n
In Kwale County, the outage will affect the Lungalunga area and surrounding locations.<\/p>\n
Affected areas include Mrima, Lungalunga Airstrip, Mkuduru, Marenje, Kutoka Ardhini, Kenya Loma, Lungalunga Town, Horohoro Border Post, Lungalunga Market, Lungalunga Hospital, and adjacent customers.<\/p>\n
North Eastern Region
\nKitui County<\/p>\n
Parts of Kitui County will also experience planned power interruptions.<\/p>\n
Areas set to be affected include Kiomo, Uvaita, Maiyuni, Kavanini, Mbakini, Kwa Muthusi, Nguutani, Kakululo, Thiitani, Mathunzini, Kanyaa, and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
Nairobi Region
\nNairobi North<\/p>\n
In Nairobi, sections of Runda will experience electricity outages during the scheduled maintenance period.<\/p>\n
The affected locations include Trio Estate, Rossyline Green, the Embassy of Switzerland in Kenya, and nearby customers.<\/p>\n
North Rift Region
\nUasin Gishu County<\/p>\n
Residents in Chemoset and Kabobo areas of Uasin Gishu County are also expected to be affected.<\/p>\n
The interruption will impact Chemoset, Kabobo Farm, Silgich, Mogoiywet, and surrounding customers.<\/p>\n
