{"id":234671,"date":"2026-05-20T07:03:04","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T04:03:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/?p=234671"},"modified":"2026-05-20T07:33:04","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T04:33:04","slug":"kenya-power-announces-interruptions-in-service-for-the-following-counties-and-estates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghafla.co.ke\/ke\/kenya-power-announces-interruptions-in-service-for-the-following-counties-and-estates\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenya Power announces interruptions in service for the following counties and estates:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"236\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Kenya Power<\/span><\/span> has announced planned electricity interruptions affecting parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu and Kwale counties on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as the utility company carries out scheduled maintenance works.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"240\" data-end=\"352\">According to the notice, the power interruptions will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. in all the affected areas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"356\" data-end=\"378\">Nairobi areas affected<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"382\" data-end=\"472\">In the Nairobi region, the outage will affect parts of the Nyangumi and Lenana Road areas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"476\" data-end=\"670\">Areas expected to experience interruptions include Lenana Road, Kasuku Road, Nyangumi Road, Yaya Centre, Timau Road, Mtito Andei Road, Mukuyu Lane, Jabavu Road, Thetha Lane and nearby customers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"691\">North Rift region<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"695\" data-end=\"784\">In Uasin Gishu County, the interruption will affect areas around Chepkoiyo and Mukombozi.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"967\">Residents and businesses in Kesses, Chepkoiyo, Ngecheck, Ndubuneti, Mukombozi, Lelmokwo, Lelboinet and surrounding areas are expected to be affected during the maintenance period.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"983\">Coast region<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"1062\">In Kwale County, the planned outage will affect Lungalunga and Vanga areas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1215\">Customers in Lungalunga, Horohoro, Kenyaloma, Vanga, Mwangwei and neighbouring areas should prepare for electricity interruptions throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1219\" data-end=\"1353\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Kenya Power has advised affected customers to plan accordingly during the maintenance period as technicians work on the power network.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions affecting parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu and Kwale counties on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, as the utility company carries out scheduled maintenance works.
