Gospel musician Racheal Muthoni Wandeto was laid to rest on Friday at her family home in Kabumbu Village, Kirinyaga Central, following a court decision that brought an end to a dispute over her final burial arrangements.<\/p>\n
The Kerugoya Law Court allowed her mother, Sarah Njeri Wandeto, to proceed with the burial, clearing the way for the ceremony after weeks of disagreement within the family.<\/p>\n
The burial service began at around 11:30 a.m. and was conducted by the Akarino Church Kiandaka Parish under the leadership of Archbishop Tito Charles Kinyua.<\/p>\n
Wandeto\u2019s body was collected from St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Mortuary in Kerugoya after it had earlier been released from Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home in Kabati.<\/p>\n
Family spokesperson Joseph Githinji Kimaru confirmed that the court ruling provided the direction needed for the burial to proceed.<\/p>\n
The ceremony was kept brief and private following the earlier disruptions surrounding the arrangements.
