She\u2019s Kemunto has opened up about how the trending Netflix series Polygamist<\/em> brought back memories of her own personal experiences and changed the way she views women navigating similar relationships.<\/p>\n

The series has sparked widespread conversations online, with many viewers sharing their opinions about the challenges and dynamics portrayed. For Kemunto, however, the storyline felt more personal than just entertainment.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the show, she said she initially felt sympathy for the women featured before realising how closely some of their experiences connected with her own past.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really wanted to pity the women from the series \u2018Polygamist\u2019, but oops, I then remembered I was once a JOYCE. The only difference is I was no stepmom, but PH changes were crazy,\u201d Kemunto wrote on Wednesday, June 16, 2026.<\/p>\n

She explained that watching the series forced her to revisit her own journey and gave her a deeper understanding of the emotional struggles that can come with certain relationship situations.<\/p>\n

Lessons on Letting Go<\/h3>\n

Kemunto said her biggest takeaway was that people can offer advice, but ultimately, individuals must be ready to make their own decisions and walk away from situations that no longer serve them.<\/p>\n

\u201cLesson: You can only advise a person, but you can\u2019t force them out of where they are not ready to let go,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

She also used the conversation to highlight the importance of protecting personal peace and maintaining healthy boundaries.<\/p>\n

According to Kemunto, boundaries should exist to protect someone\u2019s well-being rather than to accommodate another person\u2019s wishes at their own expense.<\/p>\n

\u201cProtect your peace. Your boundaries are there to keep you safe, not to accommodate someone else\u2019s desires at your expense,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Choosing Yourself<\/h3>\n

The content creator further encouraged people to prioritise themselves, noting that learning to do so often comes through personal experience rather than advice from others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always preach the words \u2018choose yourself over and over again and again,\u2019 but guess what? It has to happen for you to learn,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Her remarks highlighted the reality that some life lessons only become clear after someone has personally experienced difficult situations.<\/p>\n

Questioning Polygamous Relationships<\/h3>\n
