But because I was born into a family name like this, \u2018Koinange,\u2019 they say, Oh you people have a street named after you, your people were in government for the last 50 years<\/em>,\u201d said Jeff in a one-on-one interview with SDE.<\/p>\n<h3>His father died when he was just two months old<\/h3>\n<p>Jeff, in the interview, said that his father died two months after he was born leaving his mother a widow with three other children to care of meaning he had to step up his hustle from a young age but he doesn&#8217;t regret as much.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMy father died the day I turned two months old, leaving a 28 year old widow to care for four kids on her own, and she did don\u2019t just imagine things,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8221;\u00a0Also because if he was around, we might have ended up as some really spoilt brats as kids, and I\u2019m glad we didn\u2019t end up that way. But because I was born into a family name like this, \u2018Koinange,\u2019 they say, \u201cOh, you people have a street named after you, your people were in government for the last 50 years.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And for me it\u2019s like, you know what, that\u2019s all well and good, but listen to my story, listen to the fact that my father died the day I turned two months old, leaving a 28 year old widow to care for four kids on her own, and she did. You know, read the story, don\u2019t just imagine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;This is exactly why people are so misunderstood. And it is also why I think it\u2019s important for everyone to write their story, because, people assume whatever they want to assume.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Even then, at the end of the day, I might not be able to convince some people. They\u2019ll still sit and think, this is just a book, it\u2019s just a story.
