Abduba Dida is making the most out of being a presidential candidate; he has rejected four GSU officers attached to his security detail and instead wants IG to increase the number.<\/p>\n

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has been put in a difficult position by the demands of some presidential candidates who command less than 1% approval ratings but demand equal treatment with other candidates with double digits approval ratings.<\/p>\n

Alliance for Real Change presidential candidate protested when IG assigned two GSU officers to protect him until August 8th<\/sup> general election.<\/p>\n

The IG revised the number and added two more GSU officers to Dida\u2019s security detail. But guess what, Abduba Dida still wants more GSU officers even when the threats to his life are unheard of.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Dida turned down IG\u2019s offer of four GSU officers on his security detail on Wednesday and insisted on having 20 bodyguards as he had requested earlier.<\/p>\n

Even though Dida\u2019s request appears to be unreasonable, the Alliance for Real Change presidential candidate is right to request more guards since all presidential and deputy presidential candidates are equal for purposes of the election.<\/p>\n

The Constitution, in Article 138 (8) holds that a presidential election shall be cancelled and a new election held on three grounds, one of which (b) reads, \u201ca candidate for election as President or Deputy President dies on or before the scheduled election date\u201d.<\/p>\n
