Anna Kamene Kiilu lies in a critical condition in Apollo Hospital New Delhi. The Kenyan woman left Kenya for India to undergo kidney transplant but was greeted by bad news upon arrival in the populous Asian country.<\/p>\n

Anna was diagnosed with multiple myeloma when Indian doctors carried out tests on her. Myeloma is a type of blood cancer that affects plasma cells and bone marrow, which was the cause of the kidney failure.<\/p>\n

Doctor’s first priority is to control the multiple myeloma after which they will then proceed with the kidney transplant. To control the\u00a0myeloma, Anna was put on chemotherapy treatment, her\u00a0legs however got affected in the second cycle of chemotherapy.<\/p>\n

She needs to undergo a type of bone marrow transplant called autologous stem cell transplant after which she will then go under the knife again for kidney transplant.<\/p>\n

Setbacks<\/h5>\n

Anna currently can’t undergo the surgeries because the family has already exhausted all money they had, they have spent so much on dialysis, tests and drugs.<\/p>\n

Anna’s son Dennis Jawour, who had traveled with her to India to donate his kidney, was forced to return to Kenya to look for avenues to raise money for his mother’s treatment.<\/p>\n

The family needs to raise Kes 6 million which will cover the anti-myeloma chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, dialysis support for 6 months, renal transplant.<\/p>\n

Anna’s son is appealing to Kenyans to help him raise money for his mother’s treatment. Whatever amount you give him will be highly appreciated.<\/p>\n
