Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore left many rather worried after sharing how he was given incorrect diagnosis in his early stages of Cancer.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Jeff Koinange, Bob shared that he was\u00a0misdiagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency by Kenyan doctors before he new he had cancer.<\/p>\n
“I use to get tired and have high temperatures from time to time. It got so bad that I could not make it to company events,” he said in the interview.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n “During a visit to Morocco, I started experiencing flu-like symptoms. I noticed a pain in the bones of my chin and that my body would start shaking.\u00a0I thought to myself that it\u2019s not something you experience unless you kick something really hard.”<\/em><\/p>\n He said that further research from a UK doctor eventually showed that he had cancer.<\/p>\n “My wife Wambui is really good in self\u00a0diagnosis.\u00a0She thought I had malaria.\u00a0I also went to a doctor in Nairobi who said I had a vitamin D deficiency. I returned to Nairobi for check-ups and\u00a0was given supplements,” he said.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Adding:<\/p>\n “He did about 30 blood tests but said he could not find the problem. He needed to do more tests which meant I had to be admitted.
