TIDAL, music streaming site founded by Jay-Z, recently launched in Africa and Uganda and Nigeria were selected by the\u00a0American rapper as the countries of choice to rolled out the streaming service to the continent.<\/p>\n

TIDAL launched in Uganda through a partnership with MTN – the country’s\u00a0largest mobile network. From Uganda and Nigeria, the streaming platform will roll out to the rest of the continent especially where MTN operates.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately\u00a0MTN does not operate in Kenya, so does Kenya stand to lose?<\/p>\n

Apparently Jay Z snubbed Kenya because of the percentage of youthful population.\u00a0According to Tidal bosses quoted by Billboard, Uganda and Nigeria were chosen because they have a higher percentage of youthful population.<\/p>\n

Approximately 78% of Uganda’s population is below the age of 30 years, while the figure in Nigeria is 83%, this made the two countries an ideal target market for Tidal services.<\/p>\n
