Sharon Beryln Otieno’s brutal murder shocked the country, but most people agree that her death should be a lesson to girls seeking shortcut in life by\u00a0eloping with sponsors.<\/p>\n

Sharon, a second year student at Rongo university, was allegedly fooling around with\u00a0Migori governor Okoth Obado. She met her end after she was\u00a0abducted alongside Nation journalist Barack Oduor who was\u00a0investigating her love story with the governor which had gone sour.<\/p>\n

Her lifeless body was\u00a0found dumped in the heart of the dense Kodera Forest in Homay Bay. She was only 26 at the time of her death.<\/p>\n

Homa Bay Woman rep\u00a0Gladys Wanga and her Migori counterpart\u00a0Pamela Odhiambo have called on\u00a0girls to focus on education and avoid shortcuts following Sharon’s death.<\/p>\n

“Our girls\u2026this must be a lesson to you\u2026it doesn\u2019t matter where you come from but be contented with what you have and focus\u2026leave alone the sponsors and focus.\u00a0 It is a very sad morning, this act must be condemned. This is the true test for the DCI because it is alleged that the high and mighty are involved. It does not matter who you are, nobody deserves to take a life \u2026we want the real person behind this matter arrested and charged with the murder of Sharon,” said Wanga.<\/p>\n

Journalists including Janet Mbugua, John Allan Namu, Carol Radull,\u00a0Ciru Muiruri came out to defend Sharon Otieno after most Kenyans condemned her for fooling around with sponsors.<\/p>\n
