Singer Ray C has opened up on celebrating three years of being drug free.<\/p>\n

The singer went to rehab after former Tanzanian President\u00a0Jakaya Kikwete funded the total cost of taking her abroad for medication.<\/p>\n

Ray C spoke to\u00a0Couture Africa and said that the president coming out to help her made her really fight for her life as much as she had given up.<\/p>\n

“I was at a point where I was done with life and contemplating suicide but I could hear a voice say \u2018I am not done with you. I will bring along people to help you and lift you up. People you cannot imagine.\u2019 Sure enough, I did get those calls from people urging me on. Telling me not to quit; my mum, Kikwete. Can you imagine the president of the country offering to help you? It was God telling me I am important, that this is not you and that you have to get better.\u00a0<\/em>So I felt if people of that calibre can think of me and want to help me, who am I not to want to help myself?”<\/em><\/p>\n

Back to normal<\/h3>\n

Now that she’s back to her normal self, the singer promised to give her fans and family her best as a new person.<\/p>\n

“Today, I look back and see all I have done and gone through and I am still here. God is not done with me. I have so much to give to my family, my fans who support me and healed with me.
