Comedian MCA Tricky has come out to set the record straight about his past before all the fame and glory. Tricky was said to have been a street urchin before he got into comedy.<\/p>\n

But the Churchill Show comedian has since changed the narrative about him being a street urchin. Speaking during an interview with SDE, Tricky clarified that he used to ferry goods for traders within the CBD and that he wasn’t a street urchin at any one point.<\/p>\n

“I was never a chokoraa (street urchin). I was only a hustler in the streets but a section of the press changed the story to imply I was one. I was but a hustler ferrying goods for businesspeople to and fro Muthurwa Market,” said MCA Tricky.<\/p>\n

Tricky however says that he regularly interacted with street kids while he was working as a transporter ferrying goods in the CBD.<\/p>\n

He advises Kenyans not to give street urchins money because he explains that it only encourages them to stay in the streets. Tricky says that street urchins can make a cool Kes 5000 a day just from begging people.<\/p>\n

“But I blame the public for funding their stay in the streets.\u00a0Before you give them money, try to understand their problems. When they come begging don\u2019t just give them money. Try to talk to them and understand the reason keeping them in the streets. If it is food, buy them instead of giving them money.<\/p>\n

“I once talked to a street kid who had just come from Kisii and wanted to live in the streets. I urged him to go back home than stay and rot in the streets of Nairobi. He heeded my and went back home. A streets kid makes up to Sh5, 000 a day from Kenyans\u2019 hand outs. With a chokosh earning such a tidy sum, how will you convince them to abandon life in the streets?” said Tricky.<\/p>\n
