Work that is not work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nTaking to Facebook, the Samchi group CEO expressed her honest opinion on why she thinks betting should be strictly regulated in Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms Muchemi said that betting and gambling especially as practiced by the Kenyan youth does not meet the definition of ‘work’ yet most gamblers consider it as work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
” WORK THAT IS NOT WORK
I am addressing this from a background where I understand that work is one of the key mandates given to man by God.
Work that is work must engage the human being in totality ; Mind body and soul.
It must be work that is solving a human problem.
It must be impacting more people than you ,eg creating employement.
Betting and gambling especially as practiced by our youth has totally failed this test.
It has allowed a culture of quick fix mentality, get engraved in our youth.
Instead of saving, they are betting! All with a hope of getting their rewards from a source they have no control over.
This has been made easier by the fact that almost all youths have a phone. Which means that they can bet from anywhere as long as they have as little as KSH 20.
Fellow Kenyans, this is not funny. Some losses in business are being driven by this greed.
I Support CS Matiangi! We need to control betting now and not later.
Lets engage in work that is work. This adds value to our great nation Kenya.
