It\ngoes without saying that final of a football tournament is the most exciting\npart. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing the best teams going up against each\nother. It\u2019s quite an experience!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same case applies to Chapa Dimba, a tournament that was started by Safaricom with the aim of transforming the lives of boys and girls, aged between 16 and 20, by giving them a chance to earn from something that they are passionate about \u2013 football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1600\nteams all over the country registered for the competition. This number has been\nwhittled down at every stage as we draw closer to the national finals which\nwill be played on 8th<\/sup> and 9th<\/sup> June at Kinoru Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ntournament is currently in the regional finals stage. At this stage, 8\nteams, 4 girls\u2019 teams and 4 boys\u2019 teams, take on each other for a chance\nrepresent the region in the national finals and walk away with a large sum of\nmoney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nregional finals began in Western where Blue Saints and Bishop Njenga Girls,\nboth from Lugari, were crowned winners. It then moved to Nyanza where Manyatta\nBoys and Ndhiwa Queens emerged the best of the best in the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\nthen went to Eastern where Supersolico from Mwingi and St Mary\u2019s Ndovea from\nMakueni secured a chance to represent the region in the finals. Rift Valley was\nnext where Al-Ahly and Kitale Queens secured a chance to represent the region\nin the finals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Western, Nyanza, Eastern and Rift Valley, all roads lead to Bomu Stadium in Changamwe on April 6th<\/sup> and 7th<\/sup> for the Coast regional finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nboys\u2019 semis will see Mombasa\u2019s Shimanzi Youth play Kaloleni United while\nKilifi\u2019s Matsangaoni boys will take on Maweni United from Malindi. The girls\u2019 semis will have Changamwe Ladies from\nMombasa face Kwale Starlets as Matsangaoni Ladies from Kilifi play Malindi\u2019s\nSolwogidi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner for both the girls\u2019 and boys\u2019\nteams will pocket KSh. 200,000, while the runners up will take home KSh.\n100,000. The best player, top scorer and best keeper will each pocket KSh.\n30,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After\nthe Coast, Chapa Dimba will head to Nairobi, Central, North Eastern before\nculminating in Meru where the where the national winner for both the girls\u2019 and\nboys\u2019 teams will each get KSh 1 million, while the runners up will pocket KSh. 500,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two\nboy best players and two girl best players from each region will also be\nselected to form an all-star team that will be sponsored on a 10-day trip to\nSpain where they will play La Liga<\/em> academies and access\nworld-class training facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
