However, Music star, Nameless, has defied the odds and remains relevant to date, a whooping 20 years down the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nameless takes us down memory lane of what his teenage life was like, a stage that has made him who he is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That Call<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was just a campus student, young kid, I remember that day I was having a night shift job.<\/p>

So me and my girlfriend, Wahu, she used to walk me half way on my way to work, , and then I\u00b4d head back to college.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

So that day, I think I was a bit down, I was feeling really down.<\/p>

Wifey, girlfriend at that time was trying to uplift my spirits but I was like, it will be alright.<\/p>

Then I went to work.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

When I reached jobbo, ofcos, my friend was there, we used to work just the 2 of us night shift.<\/p>

Newton and me.<\/p>

We started working as per kawaida and then, something interesting happened.<\/p>

On the radio, at the time, Muthoni Bwika announced that the biggest producer, Tejo Signs in studio was looking for artists; rap or sing, give a call:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeeeah, Are you gifted? Are you talented? Can you drop a rhyme? Can you sing? <\/p>

Well am waiting for you because he is looking out for talent and the person who wins, will cut a record with him aka, \u00b4a single\u00b4 so just don\u00b4t sit around and give me a call on 24….<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nameless could not help but listen keenly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I knew I had an interest in rapping, but I wasn\u00b4t sure that was my talent.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He thought about giving his friend, Newton a hint about his desire to give the producer a call and all, but he decided to keep it to himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nameless stands up and goes to the office next door, to make that call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To his surprise, Muthoni picks and she\u00b4s like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yoh, you wanna try it?<\/p>

Yah, I wanna try.<\/em><\/p>

Let\u00b4s go.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Breakthrough<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So Nameless is given beats to rap to and here he goes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asubuhi na mapema, naamka, ninaoga, nauliza, mirror mirror on the ukuta, what do I need….?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Muthoni gave Nameless some positive vibes and went ahead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woh, that\u00b4s pretty cool…What\u00b4s your name?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nameless was not sure what answer to give because he hadn\u00b4t decided on an artistic name so it became a challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And bang! He picked on \u00b4Nameless\u00b4 because chances are that his boss was listening on radio and all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So Muthoni went with it but once they had made a decision, they would sure call back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nameless then heads back to office and Newton can\u00b4t just believe his friend missed a guy called \u00b4Nameless\u00b4 rap on the radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in my head I\u00b4m thinking, should I tell him it\u00b4s me? <\/p>

So I ask him, what did you think about it, and stuff like that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Next day, announcement is, \u00b4Nameless\u00b4 actually won, he is now in the finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Same thing, he walks out of the room, leaves Newton in the office and goes into the next office, makes the call and returns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So Newton is like, dude you keep missing.<\/p>

Every time you go to the toilet, this guy comes on air.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Newton likes the rap and all and Nameless feels encouraged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good thing about it, is funny enough, guys liked the vibe and they voted me in and I won the gig with Tedd.<\/p>

And…two days later, I was recording Megarider.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I can say that call I made, changed my life because at that point, on Monday, the next week, they launched my Megarider.<\/p>

People loved it, it became my hit, and now I had to be Nameless.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

People were anxious to know his kind of profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u00b4s when my journey started, literally 20 years ago.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Nameless and his then girlfriend, Wahu were the key voices in the song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tedd Josiah produced Nameless debut dingle, \u00b4Megarider\u00b4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Megarider was recorded and released back in 1999 as Nameless first single, which opened paths to his unexpected musical journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest is history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
