Kenyan dancehall artiste signed to International Record Label

Kenyan music is definitely going places. First it was Camp Mulla, and now a dancehall artiste has just made history. You may not realise this but the signing of this artiste on this record label, places him in a position to collaborate with established and renown reggae/dancehall artistes.

You may recognise Versatile from Kenyan produces riddims, singing his heart out in all of his songs. Doing reggae in Kenya, or better yet, making a living out of it is no easy task. Versatile has been working on his music with other Kenyan dancehall artiste like Levisil, Shamir and Fireson. Now, greater gates are opening up for this young artiste as he has just been signed by Champion Squad, from Miami, Florida.

Champion Squad, otherwise known as the Remix Masters, is a group of professional DJs, famous for their remixing abilities of Hip Hop and Dancehall songs. The group surfaced in the mid 1990s and are currently one of the biggest DJs and Riddim producers known.

Ever since they moved into the riddim production art, they have proved to be a force to reckon with. Their first riddim, The Champion Squad Riddim, was produced in 2011 and featured iconic reggae artistes such as Gappy Ranks, Munga Honorable, Tony Matterhorn, Delly Ranks, and two artistes from Nairobi, Vital Blaq, and Versatile. So yeah, they are kind of a big deal.

All we have to do now is sit back and wait for some smash hit riddims from our very own. Who knows, maybe he might even have the honor of launching a new riddim.
