Kenyan Hero Bears Olympic Torch

The Kenyans did their bit in the London 2012 Olympics relay. The list only included one athlete, Paul Tergat. Three were picked for their outstanding service to society. They were Asunta Wagura (Kenya Network of Women with AIDS), model Cecilia Mwangi (Ahadi Kenya Anti-jigger Campaign) and CNN Heroes nominee, Evans Wadongo (Sustainable Development For All-Kenya).

Evans Wadongo was one of the 10 shortlisted CNN Heroes from around the world in 2010. The Olympic Flame arrived in the U.K. in mid-May and will be carried through 1,000 villages and towns across the U.K. by 8,000 torch bearers over a 70-day period.
