Kenya’s First NFL Player Daniel Adongo Reportedly Dropped from the NFL for Allegedly Beating up His Girlfriend Like a Burukenge
Daniel Ojiambo Adongo popularly known as Dan Adongo became the first Kenyan to join the prestigious National Football League (NFL)
Adongo who used to play for Kenya Harlequins junior team before joining Kenya’s U-18 and U-19 national team was recently accused of beating up a woman believed to be his girlfriend.
The Indy Star reports that the police have been called twice to Adongo ‘s home in the past three months to investigate potential domestic violence.
The first incident was on the 24th of October when his girlfriend went to the police and claiming that she was afraid of Adongo and didn’t want him near her but she refused to expound further on the incident .But the police noted that she had visible injuries on her body that included a black eye, cut lip, and marks on her wrists Adongo on his part told the police that he would not go home that evening and would end the relationship.
The Police Report on October 24
According to a police report, Adongo had an “open case” with the NFL and could not say much in regards to the violence allegations. The report went further to state that the information of gender violence provided by the woman was inaccurate and that the NFL Investigators have all the information to prove that.
After the 2nd incident on the 10th of December , the Indianapolis Colts waived the linebacker last Thursday.
Apparently this is not the first time Adongo has been accused of flexing his muscles on his girlfriends, word on the street was that he used to beat up women back here.
As we write this the future of Adongo ‘s career is not clear, and many speculate it could be a wrap for his career at the NFL. But judging from the number of extremely violent NFL players still on the field, Adongo could be back on the team soon.
Efforts to reach him have been an exercise in futility with the many avenues used to contact him going unanswered.
