KFC Launches ‘Krushers’ a New Sophisticated Drink Kenyans Are Yet to Taste!

When you think of mouth-watering delicious chicken, KFC pops in your mind. The chicken is AMAZING! It has this crispy outside covering then when you bite into it it’s juicy and tender. The marinating is on point! You NEED to order KFC chicken like yesterday. When it was introduced in Kenya, like four years back, it was believed to be some boogie joint for guys living sides za Junction and not the rest of us wanainchi living the other side of Nairobi. But as of today, they have been opening branches left right & center!

Yesterday I got to be invited to their launch at their Kimathi Branch, I’m a foodie, so anything food-like calls my name, there was no way I was turning down this opportunity for a free meal. So in we went, my colleague and I, we were handed some Milkshake drink, got to register ourselves and were shown where to sit. This event was to start from 11am, but as usual, Kenyans have to be late. Any who, they event rolled out after waiting for quite a while.

I got to learn a lot about KFC I must say, what stood out was;

  • The ‘milkshakes’ are actually not milkshakes but cold drinks made from pure ice cream and crashed Oreo Biscuits or Mixed Berry. The flavors launched were- Oreo Krushers and Mixed Berry Krushers.
  • KFC branches are expanding! There’s one coming to Mombasa Road very soon.

The launch had a lot of representatives from various Campuses; Daystar, USIU, KU, JKuat U.O.N etc Madtraxx was also around, he got to perform his ‘old’ and ‘new’ songs. Of course ‘Dabo Tap’ had to be performed. As my colleague was glad to correct me, DnG is Cute not Pretty, so then, Cute DnG was the MC. Sleepy & Chipukeezy was also in the house he got as cracking up. There were also various media guys, apart from yours truly Ghafla! I got to interact with a blog called Tambaa that deals with lifestyle, you definitely you should check it out.

All in all, the launch was awesome, I loved the Krushers drink, it has become my new addiction! You should grab yourself one, you wouldn’t regret.
