Khaligraph Jones Honors Raila Odinga With Massive Mural Tribute (Photos)

Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has paid a powerful and permanent tribute to the late former Prime Minister, Raila Amolo Odinga, by commissioning several massive murals of the statesman inside his mansion.

In a video shared on his Instagram stories on Wednesday, October 23, 2025, the award-winning artist offered glimpses of the impressive artwork. The murals depict Raila in various iconic moments, commemorating his role as a key reformist who shaped Kenya’s democracy.

Emotional Reaction to Raila’s Passing

When the news of the former Prime Minister’s death broke, Khaligraph shared an emotional message conveying his devastation and disbelief.

“Hii imenimaliza (This has finished me), since yesterday I’ve still been trying to process this. Baba will forever be my hero. Rest, Baba, Rest,” he wrote.

His grief was evident when, on Sunday, October 19, the day Raila’s body was laid to rest in Bondo, the rapper broke his prolonged social media silence. He explained that the loss had weighed heavily on him, leaving him without strength to post.

“There are some of us who since this thing happened (Raila’s death) we have not had any strength. Today, being the final day that we are paying our last respects to mzee, I just want to say Rest baba, it is well,” he said.

An immaculate portrait of Raila was visible in the background of this video, which was seemingly filmed at his home.
