Larry Madowo Resigns from CNBC Africa

Eight months after resigning from NTV to join CNBC Africa, business journalist Larry Madowo has called it quits at Africa’s first pan-African business channel, CNBC Africa. Larry was based at the Nairobi bureau but once in while travelled to head office for his duties.

In a tweet this morning, the journalist who’s also a tech enthusiast expressed his delight for his time at the South African-based TV station. He however stated that it was time to move on saying “the ship is setting sail for ‘home’”.

It’s not clear why Larry left CNBC but am sure he will soon reveal like he did when he left NTV. Back in April when he left NTV Larry said, “I am leaving because I am a risk taker. Because I am an endlessly curious person. I want to see what happens next and I want to fully live every minute of my life. As Mark Twain once said: ‘Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.’”

Anyhow, wherever he lands next Ghafla! wishes him all the best.
