List of Top 5 Kenyan and American Musicians Compared

If Kenyan musicians were American musicians, there would be a whole lot of drama in the celeb-world considering that our entertainment industry happens to be a closely knit one and ‘the populars’ would be bound to step on each others toes.

We want to do a brief comparison of leading Kenyan musicians comparing them to popular American artistes based on their music and their lifestyle. We’d like you to comment on your views at the end of it and share some of your comparisons as well, telling us what you think.

1. Nikki and Beyonce

Both of these musicians are voluptuous and one of the most desirable women in their countries. Their vocal tunes are hits immediately they drop but in terms of performances, Beyonce is miles ahead. We were torn as to whether to compare Beyonce to Wahu instead, because of the power couple that is Bey and Jay Z and Wahu and Nameless.

Ultimately Nikki won it outright with her seductive nuances and commanding presence both on and off the stage. Both ladies have side hustles with Nikki being a radio presenter and entrepreneur as well as Beyonce lining up her fashion brand and fragrance.

2. Prezzo and Jay Z

The swag that these two possess is nothing short of legendary. They may not rap as much as other younger and aspiring rappers in the industry but they are at the top of their game when it comes to rep, luxury and the finest things in life.

Both these lyricists boast having been in relationships with some of the most sought after celebrities in the industry as Jay Z even went ahead to marry ‘Mama Blue Ivy’. Prezzo has not (yet?) built a musical brand for himself like Jay Z but he is definitely on the list of some of the wealthiest musicians.

3. Avril and Rihanna

Good girls gone bad, these two both started out in the industry as some of the ‘sweetest’ and most promising talents with their hits Oh Mama and Pon De Replay respectively. It’s very evident the long way they both have come from their preliminary performances.

Both Avril and Rihanna constantly feature on their country charts and topple them with catchy tunes and distinct vocals, it’s no surprise then that they are some of the most in demand performers at functions across the board. They both grab headlines with the relationships they get into and on ocassion make slip ups that their fans learn to forgive them for. 

4. Camp Mulla and The Black Eyed Peas

Both these outfits started out as a purely rappers gig but later expanded to include a female vocalist and subsequently took their music industry by storm. They are known for unique videos and pushing the limit of musical delivery with fast and witty rhymes fused with a mix of hip hop and RnB.

5. Abbass and Snoop Dog

Arguably the best rappers of their time, the two boast massive respect in the hip hop industry as well as having been among the first established artists in their genre. They may be out of the limelight of now but consistently come up with hits that rule the hip hop underground.
