Lupita Nyongo’s Father Anyang’ Nyong’o Denies Claims That Lupita Is Mexican

There were claims that Lupita Nyongo’ was from the country south of the Big Old USA,Mexico and a few people were skeptical about these claims. Her father Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o , came out to clear the air asserting that Lupita  is Kenyan.

Speaking to The Standard the Senator for Kisumu County said this “As her father, let me assure you that Lupita was born in Mexico while we were in political exile there during the dark days of the Moi regime. The family, including her, are Kenyans,”

As for her role as Patsey in 12 years a slave, the proud father had this to say “I could not possibly believe that our daughter, little Lupita, was actually starring in that movie and making the best of her role”.

He also gave the movie props saying that It’s a wonderful movie, one that made me remember the pain I went through many years ago as an undergraduate reading Eric Williams’s magnum opus, Capitalism and Slavery.
