Mama Ngina Kenyatta To Become A Doctor (Photo)

Mama Ngina Kenyatta, mother to President Uhuru Kenyatta and wife to the first president of Kenya, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, will be awarded with a honorary doctorate from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology later today.

JKUAT will hold a graduation ceremony today.

The Vice Chancellor of JKUAT is expected to present Mama Ngina for the conferment of the Degree of Doctor of Science in Entrepreneurship ( Honoris Causa) of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Mama Ngina Kenyatta has been here ever since her husband passed away in 1978, and is said to be in the forefront in matters entrepreneurship.

The University is named after her late husband and father to the current Kenyan leader.

Kenyans have aired mixed reactions over the same. While some believe she deserves the degree, others argue that such degrees should be awarded to people who have excelled academically and not just anyone.

All in all, her degree is already in place.
