According to a report by Daily Trust, the Nigerian Senate is set to make laws that will regulate the activities of youths on social media.<\/p>\n
The Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime, AbdulFatai Buhari made this known on Tuesday in Abuja at the National conference for Cyber Security.<\/p>\n
If left unregulated, the activities on social media is capable of setting the country on fire. This is especially now that the country is approaching the general elections.<\/p>\n
We have got experts to advise us and we have presented a bill to the Senate.<\/em><\/p>\n
The bill has passed the first reading and it has been listed for the second reading.\u2019\u2019<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Youths, he said, use social media to make accusations and claims about those perceived as political enemies. He however, noted that they should use their knowledge of ICT to develop the country’s economy.<\/p>\n
