Last week, popular OAP, Yaw Naija took to social media to vent his displeasure over singer, Runtown.<\/p>\n
According to him, he was mad at the singer because he ditched his show last year. He had invited the Mad Over You singer to his show but was turned down on the excuse that he would be outside of the country at the time of the show.<\/p>\n
He was however hurt when he found out that the singer was lodged in Eko Hotels on the night of the show; the same venue where the show happened.<\/p>\n
This was in an interview with Sunday Scoop, where he noted that the singer had reached out to him after the video went viral.<\/p>\n
The truth is I don\u2019t pay attention to social media. I was just having a conversation with my friends in the studio and we were doing \u2018Instagram live\u2019.<\/p>\n
If you had listened to the footage well, you would hear Runtown\u2019s song playing in the background. If I still have issues with him, I wouldn\u2019t have played his song.<\/p>\n
He sent me a message on Wednesday morning after seeing the video and we spoke.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am human. Even when I was not happy with Runtown, I was still promoting his songs.<\/p>\n
I have been talking about national issues such as the Plateau killings and the need for people to get their PVCs, but people decided to ignore all that. It was the part I talked about Runtown they paid attention to.\u201d<\/p>\n
Yaw said since he started organising shows 10 years ago, Nigerian artistes such as Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Reminisce, Phyno and many others had been supportive.<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cI have enjoyed great support from Nigerian artistes. But I called Runtown three years ago and he said he was not available. When I told him two years ago, he still claimed not to be available.<\/p>\n
But for last year, he promised he would come if he was in town. On the same day, the Lagos State Government held a concert at Bar Beach. He attended and lodged at Eko Hotel.<\/p>\n
Humblesmith performed at Bar Beach too but still came to support me. I expected Runtown to show me support and leave.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I saw his car, it was normal for me to feel bad. But afterwards, I forgot everything. I don\u2019t think anyone has played Runtown\u2019s song, Mad Over You, like I did.<\/p>\n
