Mavins first lady, Tiwa Savage, has for the first time, shut down allegations of song theft, by Nigerians, on singer, Ciara. This is coming after the American singer released her collabo with Nigerian act, Tekno.<\/p>\n
When the son was released, Nigerians were all over social media with talks that the singer sampled Tiwa Savage’s ‘Before Nko’, in her song, ‘Freak me’.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview with\u00a0Capital Xtra\u2019s Tim Westwood, the singer has however cleared the air on these allegations. Noting that the song is a great son, she revealed that Ciara’s camp reached out to her.<\/p>\n
Stating that she didn’t hear the song until its release, the Nigerian singer gives kudos to the singers. Read what she said below;<\/p>\n
It\u2019s amazing. It\u2019s an honour. I knew she was going to sample the record.<\/em><\/p>\n
Her people had spoken to my people but I didn\u2019t hear the final product until it came out but it was a pleasant surprise. Big shout out to her.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
She also spoke on her upcoming collabo with Coldplay:<\/p>\n
They have a record with Stargate and it kinda has like an Afrobeat influence in it and I already worked with Stargate on a couple of records, so they wanted a female vocal on it, so here I am.<\/em><\/p>\n
When I was in the studio with Chris Martin, he was so cool. I was so nervous. He made it so easy.\u00a0<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
She placed her collaboration with Duncan Mighty, Lova Lova as her favorite song at the moment.<\/p>\n
I knew it was a big record when I recorded it.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
She also spoke on gender inequality in the music industry across the world.<\/p>\n
I think it\u2019s all over the world actually. I have heard other female acts from America, the\u00a0UK talk about how hard it is,\u201d Savage said.<\/em><\/p>\n
