Nigerian music Diva, Tiwa Savage, has spoken up about some of her personal battles. This is coming after series of messages she says she gets in her social media DMs from young people.<\/p>\n
According to her, after growing up with the society’s definition of beauty, she sometimes considers herself not so pretty. This however, is affected by the make up, push up bras and beautiful girls on social media.<\/p>\n
Hinting at some of her imperfections, the singer stated that she is also in the battle with self esteem. She is not perfect, she said.<\/p>\n
I get a lot of messages from young girls who are depressed with low self-esteem because they don\u2019t feel pretty like the social media girls they see every day and my heart breaks because I feel like that too sometimes.<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cWe are all in this together, I\u2019m not perfect, and not the prettiest, sexiest, richest but I\u2019ll remain kind and seek after God\u2019s heart because none of the others matters to Him.<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cUltimately God\u2019s approval is all we need\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
On fitting into the definition of beauty with the help of beauty enhancers, she wrote:<\/p>\n
\u201cSome people are born beautiful, flawless skin, long curly hair, fair skin but some of us grew up looking at the world\u2019s definition of beauty and found ourselves not fitting into that standard but with the help of makeup, filters and push up bras we feel a little closer.<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cWhat happens when you take all that off and you stare at yourself in the mirror, do you still think you are beautiful?<\/em><\/p>\n
\u201cYou should because you are and when we meet our creator face to face it\u2019s those with the kindest hearts that will stand as most beautiful.<\/em><\/p>\n
