Nimrod Mbai arrested for assaulting KPLC engineer

Nimrod Mbai, the MP for Kitui East, was arrested on charges of assaulting a Kenya Power employee who was cutting off his illegal electricity connection. The incident took place in Kitengela town, and the MP will be arraigned in court in Kajiado.

A group of Kenya Power employees had earlier staged a demonstration in Kitengela to protest the MP’s assault on their colleague. They demanded that the authorities take action against the MP, but before they were informed that he had been arrested, the demonstration had already dispersed.

The MP’s arrest is a sign that the authorities are taking the incident seriously. It is also a reminder that everyone is subject to the law, regardless of their position or status.
