Duma told the publication: “There is no party that I follow. I’m not involved in politics. I’ve never voted but I am going to register to vote for these coming elections. I will be voting for the first time this year but that does not mean I will vote for the EFF just because I was seen wearing the party’s doek.”

“I was sitting at home and came across an EFF doek. I wore it because I realised that it suits me. I took the picture because I had a headache caused by the fact that I had braided my hair. I was asking people how do they go to sleep with their braids because I could not at the time,” explained Duma on why she chose to wear the headgear.
